Frequently Asked Questions
What is cold-pressed oil?
Cold-pressed oil is oil extracted from seeds or nuts without using high heat or chemicals. The extraction process is carefully controlled to keep temperatures below 45°C, which helps preserve the oil’s natural nutrients, aroma, flavour, and beneficial properties. Unlike refined oils, cold-pressed oils are not bleached, deodorised, or chemically treated, making them closer to the oil’s natural state. This method results in a purer, more nutrient-rich oil that is suitable for both consumption and external use.
How is Hesthetic oil different from wooden (Kachi) Ghani oils?
Both methods avoid high heat, but there are key differences:
- We use stainless steel, not wood, allowing complete sterilisation
- Our facility is air-conditioned, reducing oxidation
- No water is added during extraction (commonly used in wooden ghani for cooling)
- Lower risk of contamination, fungal growth, or moisture damage
The result is cleaner, purer, and more stable oil.
What type of manufacturing unit does Hesthetic use?
We operate a modern, stainless-steel cold-press unit designed for:
- Food-grade hygiene standards
- Complete sterilisation between batches
- Temperature-controlled extraction
- Minimal exposure to air, heat, and light
This ensures cleaner oils, longer freshness, and consistent quality across every batch.
Are your oils lab-tested and audited?
Yes. Our oils undergo:
- Regular lab testing
- Quality factory audits
- Compliance checks for food safety and hygiene standards
We believe transparency and accountability are non-negotiable when it comes to products people consume and apply to their bodies.
How is your oil extraction process considered cold-pressed?
According to industry and food-safety standards, an oil is considered cold-pressed when extraction temperatures remain below 45°C.
Our process strictly stays within this range, ensuring:
- Nutrient retention
- No heat damage
- Natural aroma, texture, and colour
Why are Hesthetic oils more expensive than other brands?
Our pricing reflects quality, hygiene, and integrity. Not shortcuts.
Hesthetic oils are made using:
- Carefully sourced, high-grade seeds and nuts
- A stainless-steel, cold-press extraction system
- Air-conditioned, controlled environments to prevent oxidation
- Batch-wise sterilisation after every extraction
- No water addition, no chemicals, no preservatives
- Regular lab testing, audits, and quality checks
Cheaper oils often compromise on seed quality, mixing of palm oil, hygiene, storage, or extraction methods. We don’t. Our oils are priced based on what it truly costs to do things right.
Why are Hesthetic oils priced higher than other cold-pressed oils in the market?
Not all cold-pressed oils are made the same.
Many oils are labelled “cold-pressed”:
- Use mixed or low-grade seeds
- Add water during extraction
- Operate in non-sterile environments
- Lack of batch testing or proper storage controls
At Hesthetic, every step, from seed selection to bottling, is controlled, tested, and designed to preserve nutrition, purity, and safety.
Why don’t Hesthetic oils have a strong smell like the rest of the oils available in the market?
Unlike many oils in the market that are either refined, blended, or artificially enhanced, our oils are pure, cold-pressed, and free from additives.
The natural aroma of cold-pressed oils is often more subtle because we don’t apply high heat or chemicals that can intensify (or sometimes even fake) the smell.
So what you're noticing is the true scent of nature — gentle, mild, and fresh — just as it should be when extracted slowly and mindfully.
Strong = Often refined, roasted, or overheated
Mild & pure = Cold-pressed, nutrient-rich, no additives
Can all Hesthetic oils be consumed and applied externally?
Yes. Our oils are pure seed and nut oils, which means:
- They are edible
- They are safe for skin and hair application
We separate oils into edible and cosmetic categories only to make it easier for customers searching for specific use-cases (especially online). The oil itself remains pure and unadulterated.
Can there be allergic reactions to using these oils?
If you have known allergies to specific nuts or seeds, you should avoid the corresponding oil.
We strongly recommend:
- Reading ingredient labels carefully
- Doing a patch test before topical use
Why do cold-pressed oils go rancid?
Cold-pressed oils are fresh, living products much like fresh juice, and their natural composition makes them sensitive to environmental factors. Exposure to air (oxygen) can trigger oxidation, which is why bottles should always be kept tightly closed and not transferred into non-airtight containers. Light, especially sunlight, can degrade oil quality over time, so oils should be stored in dark cabinets or drawers; our tinted bottles help reduce light exposure. Heat also accelerates spoilage, which is why oils should be kept away from stoves and windows and stored in a cool place. Refrigeration can further extend shelf life. Lastly, time plays an important role: once opened, cold-pressed oils are best used within six months.
Why is the texture of Hesthetic oil lighter and smoother than that of others?
Our oils feel lighter because:
- We use high-quality seeds
- Minimal fibre and impurities remain
- No overheating or chemical processing occurs
This results in a cleaner texture that absorbs easily, without heaviness or stickiness.
